God is ONEWelcome to lesson #1 of the Free To Shine video training series. I'm glad you're here!
Referenced Scripture: For His divine power has bestowed on us {absolutely} everything necessary for {a dynamic spiritual} life and godliness, through true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:3 AMP For it is {not your strength, but it is} God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work {that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose} for His good pleasure. Philippians 2:13 AMP

I realized while making my list that the weight is not the scary concern that I most want to change. I don’t worry about the way I look as much as the way I feel.

I am so glad that you are getting clarity about what is important to you. Nutrition is a sure bet when it comes to fighting off type 2 diabetes - you can do this!

I appreciate your honesty about your past, and how you put in perspective "facts" (or at least what we thought was correct) can change. At the end of the video I felt good about what my next steps are and not feeling like I am a failure for my past or that a change is achievable. I am looking forward to watching the next video and seeing the next step on this journey.

I am so glad to hear you say "not feeling like a failure for my past!" It is so easy and common for us to beat ourselves up, but no more - it's time to look forward and embrace just how awesome you are :-)!

Thank you for reminding me that God is THE expert in everything, even food. He is the leader of my life, why wouldn’t my health and eating be the same? I know that He loves me and wants to be a part of my life. Thank you for sharing what you have learned so that I can learn God’s way to eating healthfully.

I feel like our family prays over our meals consistently, but I have never prayed that God be in charge of my purchases at the store. I am going shopping this afternoon and will be praying before I enter that God guide my purchases and create cravings for what my body actually needs!

That is awesome, Mary! I love the idea of praying before going shopping and so true about us just torturing ourselves - you are absolutely not alone on that one.
