Mix-It-Up Oatmeal

Ingredients:
1 fruit of choice, chopped
(good choices include pear, apple, and peach)
2 Tbsp water
1/4 - 1/2  tsp cinnamon, to taste (optional)
1/3 cup rolled oats
2/3 cup milk of choice (or water)
1 tsp - 1 Tbsp sweetener of choice
(good choices include brown sugar, maple syrup, and honey)
Instructions:
1. Place the chopped fruit of choice, water, and cinnamon (optional) in a microwave safe bowl.  Microwave for 2-3 minutes until the fruit is tender. 
2. Stir in the oats, sweetener of choice, and milk of choice.  Stir and microwave for another 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until tender.
Notes:
  • If you prefer your fruit uncooked, just stir it in after the oatmeal is cooked.  (good choices include bananas and berries)
